Impactful internal communication is a challenge faced by most companies. Communication is often costly (printed) and turn-around times too slow to keep up with the amount of critical information that needs to get to employees. Many companies face additional challenges of having multiple branches, offices in different regions as well as e numbers of employees with no or limited email or Internet access. It can be difficult to get out a consistent, focused message to employees in different locations or on different shifts. Corporate digital signage allows companies to deliver the right messages at the right time to the right audiences in an impactful, creative manner - without putting additional strain on budgets or resources.

TBM offers:
• Internal Staff Communication
• Consumer marketing
• Staff rewards programmes
• Staff wellbeing programmes
This is the fastest growing category of digital signage - that which consumers encounter close to a product or service for sale. The power of this type of network is that the call to action is immediate; the screens are placed where shoppers make their buying decisions. Other than traditional broadsheets or static posters, the content is not only relevant to product and brand, but also attention grabbing and quick to change. The content for the screens can also include brand building or marketing messages to positively influence the shopper’s mindset while making purchases.

Categories include:
• Retail marketing
• On shelf Branding & advertising
• In-store promotions

TBM assists in bringing marketing communication strategies to life including current promotions, entertainment acts, new gaming features, changing menus, and on-site brand activation.

Entertainment industries include:
• Gaming venues & casinos

n the service industry, customers may be exposed to marketing messages while they wait for service or stand in a queue. The objective of digital signage is therefore twofold – to keep customers entertained while also exposing them to more detailed messages and editorial content. Also called “point of wait networks”, this type of digital signage is commonly found in the retail banking and healthcare environment as well as corporate lobbies and government offices.

• Banking & Finance
• Government
• Healthcare
In public spaces, especially shopping malls, Digital signage is becoming more and more common as centers swap out old static signage. The common denominator is that screens are placed in public areas, and are used for a combination of way-finding, general information, news/weather updates and advertising. This type of digital signage is also often referred to as “point of transit” networks geared towards grabbing passing consumers for a brief period of time. Due to the interactive nature of touch screen technology, this form of digital signage is also becoming more and more prevalent in public spaces.

Public spaces suitable for digital signage:
• Shopping Malls
• Convention Centres
• Transportation (airports, stations)
• The system displays content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Each site can run unique content. Each site is individually controllable so content specific to a particular site can be addressed at that site only. This is crucial for dealing with multiple languages.
• The network can run existing material or material produced specifically for the network.
• Each site is quickly updateable via satellite. The system runs a repeating programme so customers do not have to gather together in one location at a specific time to see the visual material.
• Each item can be flighted more than once. Items can therefore be viewed many times thereby increasing the opportunity for successful communication / advertising. Multiple flightings also increase the reach and the probability that all of the target audience will see the flightings at least once. Material can be displayed at all the sites at the same time or at separate times, depending on the need.
Each installation (site) requires a satellite dish, cabling, TBM Media Player (PC), modem, and a screen (s). The content is scheduled and transmitted via the PAS 7 satellite. TBM has custom-built software that controls the delivery and scheduling. Content can be scheduled per time slot, day part, play order etc. The control of the entire network is done remotely from a central control facility in Illovo, Johannesburg. The server driving each screen is connected back to TBM via the Internet return path. This provides feedback and confirmation of the actual schedule broadcast, as well as being able to alert the control room to any transmission problems at the site. Remote error correction and problem diagnostics are done from the TBM central facility.

TBM provides an on-going content management and network monitoring service and guarantees a minimum service level. All material destined for the screens has to be encoded, scheduled and then transmitted via satellite from TBM’s offices.
